Technozen Electronics
Terms and Conditions
Purchase of a Repair Service:
Standard repair services are detailed on my website and in my Ebay/Ebid listings. Once you have purchased the required service, the faulty module should be sent to the
address shown on my website and/or e-commerce listing.
In most circumstances the initial fault diagnosis will have been carried out or determined by the customer. All modules are tested for actual faults before any work is carried out, if no fault is found then contact will be made to ascertain if the standard repair is to be completed or the module returned in the “as received” condition.
In some instances, and as part of the repair process, Technozen Electronics may provide a replacement circuit board. This is done at the discretion and expense of the company to mitigate the delay in completing a repair, particularly where extended testing would be required to find the reported fault or where it has been deemed that a possible intermittent fault exists. Technozen Electronics guarantees the suitability of the replacement provided, sourced from a pool of extensively tested items stocked solely for this purpose.
Unique configuration settings are read from modules sent for repair and are stored until the repair is complete. Any replacement circuit board supplied will be programmed with the configuration settings taken from the original, this ensures seamless operation when the module is refitted to the vehicle and negates the need for any further programming.
Most repairs will be completed and received back within 3 working days, some complicated repairs may take longer. International repairs will take longer due to increased delivery times.
If your module cannot be repaired I will provide a full detailed report and costing for a replacement module. Any payments made are transferrable against the cost of a replacement module.
Some module failures will have been caused by the failure of other components on the vehicle. The warranty of the repaired module will be conditional that the components having caused the failure be replaced. In these instances the failure mode will be indicated on the repair invoice returned with the item.
Custom repair quotations require full payment to be made before despatch of the repaired module.
If the standard repair is declined, as in the case of a “no fault found” scenario or if the module received has been deemed beyond repair, then a fee based as follows will be charged;
UK Customers: A charge of £15.00
International Customers: A charge of £25.00.
All other balances of payments received will be refunded.
The return fee will be waived if you do not require the original
module to be sent back.
Your statutory rights are not affected.
Delivery Information:
I return high value items using Royal Mail Special Delivery or 24 Signed within the UK and Royal Mail Tracked and Signed service for International deliveries. In all
instances the appropriate level of insurance will have been included. I strongly recommend that you choose the correct service when sending an item to me and add insurance to your
package. All items should be
adequately packaged and must include your contact details. I do not provide a collection service and you must arrange the shipment of your unit to me. For International shipments the sender is responsible for paying any Customs import and/or export fees associated with shipping the item, these can include incoming duty,
outgoing duty, and/or courier administration costs. Modules that cannot be repaired or are returned because a repair has been declined by the customer may also be subject to these
fees.
The Customs Service of your country may significantly delay the delivery of the returned item,
this is beyond my control and I will not be held responsible for any costs
as a result of a delayed delivery.
I am not responsible for lost or damaged packages but I will do all that is required to initiate and process a claim with the
relevant delivery company.
If an item is lost whilst being returned to the customer I will do all in my ability to arrange a replacement item.
Warranty:
The Warranty covers the repair of your unit back to its original operating condition as a result of component or workmanship defects for a period of one year from the
date of repair. Some specific parts used are provided with an additional Two or Five year Warranty, this warranty covers the parts only.
All parts replaced and labour performed by Technozen Electronics are covered. The warranty is valid for the period that you own the vehicle and is non-transferable. Any warranty claims require you to remove the module and return it to me for testing and inspection. Cost of return delivery, removal, car hire, diagnostic, coding, programming, software download, and/or mechanic charges are not covered by the warranty and the warranty only applies to the original repair carried out.
Certain module failures can be directly attributed to the failure of other components on the vehicle. The warranty of the repaired module will be conditional that the components having caused the failure are replaced before a repaired module is refitted. In these instances the failure mode will be indicated on the repair invoice returned with the item and the relevant parts that must be replaced identified.
If during the warranty it is determined the part is beyond repair as a result of the failure of the original work carried out, I will at my discretion either provide a replacement unit or refund the entire original repair cost.
Factors that could void the warranty include, but are not limited to: water damage, fire damage, over voltage damage, part being damaged as a result of another defective part in the vehicle, damage caused by jump starting the vehicle, improper use, use in an application for which the part was not intended.
Any warranty given is in addition to your Statutory Rights.
Refunds:
Excluding repair services, items purchased in error or no longer required, eg. Relays, IC's etc. can be returned for a refund on the proviso that the parts are unused. A refund will be processed less the original cost of postage and processing charges.
Governing Law:
All agreements and purchase of services will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England.
